Sarnoff + Sarnoff is honored to have filed an amicus brief in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of Servicemembers United, the nation's largest organization of gay and lesbian servicemembers, veterans, and their allies in Log Cabin Republicans v. United States of America et al.
The amicus brief filed by Sarnoff + Sarnoff on Servicemembers United’s behalf urges the Ninth Circuit to affirm the district court’s judgment finding Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (“DADT”) unconstitutional and immediately enjoin its enforcement. The brief further urges the court to reverse the district court’s dismissal of Log Cabin Republican’s equal protection claim and remand it subject to a holding that laws regulating individuals based on sexual orientation are subject to heightened scrutiny.
